Saturday marked our First Annual Pumpkin carve and it was such a fun event!
Participants to the event picked their perfect pumpkin from our porch, which was lined with homegrown pumpkins. Not only did we have Jack-o-lantern pumpkins, but also pie pumpkins for those who wanted to take a pumpkin home.
After the carving, everyone enjoyed a tasty Fall meal and pumpkin or apple pie, catered by Italian Kitchen. Meanwhile Jim lit the fire pit for s’mores. The candle lit carved pumpkins lined up so nicely on the River deck railing!
Author Kelly Lin Gallagher-Roncace (Haunted – Gloucester, Salem & Cumberland counties) picked the winning pumpkin of our contest. Suzanne Cooke of The Royal Port Antiques in Salem, won the Gift certificate to our River room. Kelly liked the freestyle carving and specifically the ears Suzanne crafted in the Jack-o-lantern. Kelly went on to read 2 stories from her book about haunted houses in Salem County. Her book is for sale at The Inn, and at Barnes & Noble.
Thank you all for participating. We loved this event and we look forward to the 2nd Annual Pumpkin carve in 2018!
